Has this been released? If so, where is it available?

It's not out. Net talk has one of the 4 or 5 versions being made to be intro'd January at the electronic trade show.

What improvements will be made to it, what makes it better to buy than Video Essentials?

Widescreen Review Sept Issue 64 has a 2-page article/introduction by DVE producer Joe Kane, if you can find a copy. It's pretty comprehensive. VE now is OOP.

Programs will incorporate progressive and HD mastered formats and in 6.1 audio. NTSC and PAL information will be covered. Disk demos also will show how room set-up is crucial to HT playback.

There'll be a Pro version and D-VHS D-Theater Format, too.

My DVD distributor has a release date of 2039-12-31, but you know how release dates slip! [IMG]

Sounds like this can replace both my VE and AVIA since neither cover the HD and Prog Scan aspects.
