hey all,
i am running a marantz 4400 receiver and sometimes i hook up my ps2 through a fibre optical cable to utilize my surround system.
now, i set my receiver to auto so that it will detect the type of output being used by the game (pro logic, etc). this option works off dvd's or even regular tv.
when i put it a game that has pro logic or dts and set my receiver to auto, it picks it up in stereo. why is that?
my ps2 is set in the actual hardware option to use a digital signal and i also change the option in the game itself.
any ideas/help would be appreciated.
thanks!

Almost every (about 95%) of PS2 games are encoded in Pro Logic II and will not be picked up by recievers sporting the regular Pro Logic or DD features. It sux cause I don't want to buy a new reciever since I got got my Sony ES for $15
