I am getting ready to purchase some cables. Given the option which is better for the interconnect? Is optical still good or should I use the digital RCA type connectionzzzz/ Thanks

    Mark,
It is really a personal choice you have to make on which you would rather have. I have used both optical and coax digital and there is not that big of a difference in them. I prefer Coax myself. It seems to me the signal is stronger. But that is just my opinion. [IMG]

6 of one, half a dozen of the other. coax is a more robust connection although you may find the armor clad optical cables available at www.lifatec.com to be of interest. Prices ain't bad either!

Ohhhhh...armor plated so you can walk on them (drool) [IMG]
I've used both optical and coaxial and could hear no difference in my mainly-ht system. I prefer the coaxial because an ordinary video cable is fairly cheap and the optical cable looked hair-thin next to all the other interconnects behind my rack. (I was afraid they would bully it when I was not around).
    Great link Chu[IMG]

Optical advantages:No interferences from electrical, radiation (CRTs) or RF. These can degrade signals going through copper.
