Does it really matter? Radio Shack has both. Digital ($49.99) and analog ($34.99).

There have been many posts on this topic, so you can run a search. However, in short, either one is fine. The Analog is generally more preferred by audiophiles, but the Digital (which I use) is very good as well. If you don't mind not having the digital display, you may as well go with the Analog since it is cheaper.

I got the digital since RS was out of the analog. I think using the slow function emulates the natural damping of the analog needle.
