I have a number of Amazon gift cards I had been saving to use on Black Friday - I plan on using them to buy the 20% off iTunes codes then redeeming the codes to get a yearly Criterion Channel plan. Very excited.

BB never emailed me my codes for redemption so I had to call them up. I'm straight now!

Thanks for the reminder. I had about $30 in Amazon reward points, so a $100 card cost me about $50 out of pocket.

I can't wait to get home from work so I can check out what Little Women '94 looks like in 4K.

So, Robert Crawford, since you are the expert sales predictor, when is the big December iTunes sale coming up? I'm really hoping to be able to clean up on 4K titles like West Side Story.

That's funny about Little Women as I checked it about 6:00 p.m. ET and it was still HD. Now, it's 4K/Dolby Vision.:)

As to the December sales, in 2017 it was December 19th. In 2018, it was December 18th. This year I'm thinking it might be December 17th. If that comes true then again it will be the Tuesday of the prior week before Christmas Day.

The Beverly Hills Cop films are on sale at iTunes. Now would be a good time to pick up any you want before they are re-released in 4K/HDR soon. I picked up the first two.

I also grabbed The Mary Tyler Moore Show for $23. Not a bad price for seven seasons of a classic TV series.

Was that on iTunes as the price is now showing $44.99?

Yes, it was on iTunes. The price was $22.99 when I bought it yesterday evening (I was waiting for one of my discounted iTunes gift cards to arrive in the mail).

While not yet the big sale that's expected later in the month for iTunes, there is a big Paramount sale that just started with titles from $4.99 to $9.99. Most are titles that have been on sale before, however there are a few first-time price-breaks like The Court Jester for $7.99, and Fair Wind to Java for $4.99.

Update: Sorry guys, iTunes obviously put these titles on sale prematurely, because they are all jumping back up to their regular prices. I did manage to grab Court Jester during the short window when it was $7.99. I'll bet this sale was actually meant to go live on Tuesday. iTunes really makes me laugh at how often they screw things up.

 Yeah, it was a mistake as I was watching the Cowboys vs. Bears football game well before midnight and noticed the sale on my iPhone. I grabbed Fair Wind to Java for $4.99. I already had the rest including The Court Jester in my digital library.

The funny thing is, I often like to mull things over for a while before pulling the trigger, and sometimes it's just a tease because before you can make up your mind they are like Lucy with the football! I suspect they will all drop back down to those prices again when the real sale goes live and I'll have a second chance on the ones I was thinking about. :)

There are a few good 4K titles, including Scarface, on sale for $4.99 today on iTunes.
