And this version is actually the preferred version to get as it's MA enabled whereas the Arrow version was not...

I think Supergirl is $8 now

I passed on the 11 movie set because I already have SM2
Bought SM1 a little while back and got it refunded because it didn’t include the original sfx track that’s on the 4K disk.

I did buy the Batman 4 movie set as it’s currently $20.

Thanks for the heads-up on that one. Do you happen to know if it's from the recent scan that was put on Blu-Ray by Warner Archive?

iTunes also has the Alien 4 film collection for $19.99. I've been wanting to get Alien in 4K and thought maybe the best way to do it would be to get the bundle in order to future-proof whenever the other 3 go 4K, but... Disney owns 20th Century Fox now, so there's a remote chance that Disney might start blocking iTunes from selling 4K to any future 4K releases of Fox titles. What should I do?

I personally wouldn’t worry about Disney blocking Fox 4K in iTunes. There have been several rumors that Disney be supporting 4K on iTunes later in the year and while I don’t know how accurate they are, I think the state of the industry is such that they’ll soon have no choice.

Oh I wouldn't count on that. They are going to do everything to incentivize subscriptions to Disney+ and that probably means leaving 4K iTunes in the dust. If anyone caves it will be iTunes which would revoke its pledge of free 4K upgrades just to get Disney on board.

We can agree to disagree on this point. iTunes ultimately seems to be moving to a "one item, one price" purchasing format, and I think with interest in purchases declining across the board, while 4K adoption is simultaneously increasing across the board, everyone will ultimately take whatever business they can get. I think 4K is the future and rapidly becoming the present, and Disney isn't going to be left out of the accepted contemporary format. I think Disney is in a stage now where it's the difference between waiting a while to put out your first DVD vs. not ever releasing a DVD. They didn't support UHD discs until after every other major studio did either. I think Disney will be happy to take $20 for a movie purchase -- particularly if it's content that they practically give away for only $7 a month on their service.

You don’t think they’d make an exception just for Disney owned content? As in free upgrades for everything except Disney titles?

And most other retailers are, as well, with the main exception being Amazon.

Okay, I've gone ahead and purchased the Alien 4-film bundle. And if sometime in the future Aliens comes out in 4K and my iTunes copy doesn't get upgraded, Josh and Tino owe me a 4K code! :D
