Digital input causes computer to crash (1 Viewer)

I have a hercules sound card which has a digital input (optical)
Whenerver I select it my computer crashes and turns off.
Seems like something is telling it to in XP?
Any ideas?

Check for the latest hercules drivers? You may need to reinstall them if they are the latest already.
