Dazzle's Hollywood DV-Bridge transfers from sources that use analog cables and transfers the video/audio to DV then sends it to your PC via firewire. On the other hand, you can also connect a Sony Digital Camcorder with the iLink(IEEE-1394) directly to your firewire card in your PC. I'm assuming that since the Dazzle is switching the feed from digital to analog then back to digital, transfering directly from the camcorder will allow me to keep the quality of my video (or at least the closest) to the original images, correct?

If you plug the camcorder into the Bridge's firewire port, it'll just pass the signal and won't do anything to it. You don't want to hook up via analog, otherwise it'll just do the needless conversion like you stated.

Jeff, does the Bridge have an input and output connector or is it just output. I didn't remember seeing or reading anything about having 2 plugs for connecting the 1394.
