    Hello,

I want to get back into making digital audio (songs), and I'm wondering what people would recommend to do this with.

Back in the day, I used to use a program called 'Impulse Tracker' What I liked about this program was that it wasn't just loops I could use, it was actual notes.

Well, if anyone here makes their own songs, can you please let me know what you are using? I'm interested in making all types of music, but orchestral music is my main priority.

    Thanks a bunch.

For editing, Cool Edit Pro or Sound Forge.

For creation, try Propellerhead's Reason, or Sonic Foundry's Acid.

Thanks Jonathan. I will check out those programs.

Anyone else have other suggestions for me to check out as well?

i used modplug for tracking back in the day.

Look also into using fruityloops, you can do single notes instead of loops although the name suggests otherwise, its a pretty easy to use program but its surprisingly powerful.

    Reason is good too.
