I found two 2nd hand The 10th Kingdom DVD set in both digipak case and a normal plastic case. The plastic case is a bit expensive than the digipak one and digipak, probably because it being a cardboard, looks slightly damaged, especially the edges, not that much though.

Should I choose one over the other considering future preservation as well? What are your preferences? Does normal plastic case worth being a bit expensive over digipak?

The images of digipak from the seller:

You can always buy new replacement cases. If you get the plastic case now, you can just swap out the artwork. With the other case, you'll have to figure out a way to get custom art.

So it's always better to get a plastic case for the replacement factor if that is an option? Considering the digipak here is a bit damaged is also concerning. If it was mint I probably wouldn't think about it much since I'm really good at with my stuff preserving and all but yeah.

I can't answer that because there are too many unknown variables here. I don't know the difference in prices here. I also don't know how comfortable you are with tracking down or creating and printing art for the case.

But I'm also one more concerned about the discs and content than packaging.

If you mean creating art for the digipak I don't think I'm capable of doing that nor I would want to bother with it. The price difference is digipak being 3 and plastic one being 5 dollars so there isn't that much price difference. For the concern of content if you mean by the scratches and such for the discs, I don't think neither of them have that.
