I was wondering if anyone could tell me from past experience some pros and cons for two Panasonic dvd players. I need a progressive scan dvd player, and I hear all the great things about the RP-82, but does the CP-72 offer that much less that it's worth paying basically the same price for a single dvd player compared to a changer? I just want a dvd-audio player and a good progressive scan player for my Mitsubishi WS-65857. Any input would be appreciated!

From what I've been able to determine the 82 has coax and optical digital out and some "remastering" thing for cd play that doesn't seem to do much.

The 72 only has optical digital out and no "remastering".

The video circuitry is the same.

I once thought a dvd changer was a silly idea, but having had one for a while find them really neat for those multi-disc SEs and series sets. It's nice not having to get up and swap out discs when all the extra features are on one disc and the movie alone is on another.
