In non technical terms what exactly is the difference between these 2 tv's??
If I am not mistaken, Better Speaker, Bigger lenses and anti-glare screen. Worth the difference in Price? Depends who you talk to.
HX has tweeters, better glare screen, and larger lenses.
The woofers on the two TV's are the same.
I own a 50H81 and am very happy w/ it. I have restacked my screens, so I no longer have glare. I don't use the TV's speakers, and due to the 50 inch screen, the 7 inch lenses work just fine. If I had a 65 inch this may come into play. I could not justify the extra cost of the HX. I also had Sears pricematch the lowest internet price I could find. I had the TV delivered and set up for a total of 2080.00, that's with tax.
Miles, the differences are the CRTs, lenses, lenticular screen (blackstripe on HX), protective screen (anti-reflective), sound system and cosmetics.
If it doesn't break the bank, the differences, IMHO, are worth the price. The CRTs are designed to give a much longer life and if you held both lenses in your hands, you'd be sold on the HX in a heatbeat. The picture on the H is great, the HX is stellar.
Gentlemen thanks for you help!
Just wanted to know...i keep hearing conflicting answers, so.....does anyone know if the 50H81 does 3:2 pulldown? I am getting my set tomorrow and needless to say i am quite excited. Thanks in advance.
Yes it does.
