The only difference I can see between the 45TX and the 53TX is the remote. Is this correct? Are there part differences? Is the 53TX simply an upgrade to the 45TX?? Thanks for the info.

I believe the 53 does not have USB either...

They are pretty much the same receiver. Both are pretty darn good too.

    Todd,

First and foremost: Sonically both have the same guts and the same sound.

    Differences:
    53tx has:
    - Audio sync/delay (Manual, but more precise than standard .5 increments that MCACC does on both units.)
    - on-screen display is cabable of use thru component inputs not just s-video or composite.

    53tx lacks:
    - Backlit & LCD remote (LCD provides easy recognition of active component and certain features) (Backlit self explanitory.)
    - RS-232 port (can potentially allow for upgrades)
    - USB port (quicker connection to a PC)
    - 3 lbs. of weight??? (don't know if the weight loss is caused by the lack of features above or not. But likely.)
