All of us know the old addage, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.' Someone forgot to tell the people who design Athena speakers this. I am demoing the new Athena speakers (WX floorstanders) in my house, and to me they just don't have that special something that the AS-F2s did when I first heard them. To me it seems to be missing the combination of detail and fullness that won the praise of so many w/ the AS-F1s and particularly the AS-F2s. I'm curious to know if anyone else had the same impression of the new Athena line.

If I remember correctly they aren't getting rid of the [email protected] and F1, hey are changing the cosmetics slightly.

I think the new WX series is made to compete at a lower pricepoint and be better suited for flatscreen TVs.

I wish Athena would update the website.

I also thought the WX was supposed to be a lower end line than the AS????

Browsing the retail prices for the Wx line shows that they are pretty damn pricey. $600 for the biggest ones.
