The return of dante and randal from clerks was phenomenal Kevin Smith is a brilliant writer and this short film was great. I would love to see another feature film with randal that guy has always made me laugh [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

It was pretty good, looks like those two have picked up a little wait though. [IMG]
Jay said that Smith has done shorts for the show in the past, I haven't seen them. Time to scour the net for shorts from the Jay Leno show. [IMG]

I thought the short was mediocre at best. I barely laughed, and the audience was rather silent too. It had a few good lines but most of it was inane bantering.

To put it another way, to me this came off like a deleted scene from Clerks (but in color). And deleted with good reason IMHO.

Jason, Smith has done segments in the past in which he traveled around to little-known tourist attractions and interviewed people.

I saw one of his shorts a while ago where he went to a cave. It was pretty funny.

Now if only they would release them on DVD...

Thanks for the link Graeme. I thought it was a pretty damn good little piece, really funny and clever (as it always is when KS is involved).

Did Kevin Smith major in Philosophy or what? He is the master of the tragic comedy [IMG]
I thought that skit was working great and was going somewhere and had something deeper to say about our society... that punchline at the end just did not fit. It felt like Kevin was pressed for time so he threw in the "I can't believe you'd do a bunch of guys for a car" line.
I think it will be interesting once Kevin decides to expand his scope beyond comedy films, as I think his true talent lies in deeper and more poignant material. Gags and punchlines aside, he is definately an improtent and compelling voice in film.
