All of a sudden, whenever I open a word document, it asks me if I want to disable macros.. This never happend before yesterday, and the document also requests a virus scan. Any ideas?

    Thanks

it sounds like your security level has (for whatever reason) changed. try this:

tools / options / security tab / macro security button

you can change your security level there, but beware that you could open yourself up to security risks. from what i understand, there are macros out there designed to cause all sorts of problems.

Did you install Adobe Acrobat recently? Sam happens on this older computer in our house, unfortunately Acrobat Pro has some built in macros that fool with MS Word whenever it boots. I disable em also but have been too lazy to go about fixing it.

Some Googling led me to Tools > Macros > Macros. Highlight and delete. So I can highlight the macros but I can't delete em, wonderful. :

edit- ok got rid of the pop-up box by going to my MS Office Directory and searching for "pdf" deleted about 3 files and works good now.
