I'm very new to all this so any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

I just finished constructing an entire 5.1 set of speakers based on the Audax HT design by Joseph D'Appolito. I purchased all my components from Madisound, including their pre-built crossovers.

My question is how do I determine what Ohm this speakers are? Thanks.

Hi David, you can put a multimeter across the speaker terminals with your amplifier disconnected to see the DC resistance of the speaker, which is usually the minimum impedance (for my 4 ohm rated speakers, this is 2.8 ohms).

Audax claims a nominal impedance of 8 ohms for the HT kit speakers, however I would not be surprised if the impedance dropped significantly lower in the bass region.

You can e-mail Madisound or Audax and they'll probably give you an exact answer.
