Cool. Any word on a boxed set of all three films?

No word yet I'm afraid. I've just added the Revolutions artwork though. Obviously the widescreen banner has to go at the top, but they haven't released one with that yet.

The special features definitely sound a bit more special this time around.

Awful coverart, and i'm not usually one to be vocal about this type of thing. Seriously, that would have taken 30seconds to make.

Also, is this a 2 disc set? I can't see it mentioned.

Oh sorry, yep, it's a two disc set. And yeah, that artwork is awful - it's as if they couldn't make their mind up which image to go for so they just used them all! The extra features all seem pretty promotional again as well [IMG]

I'll be flamed for this for sure, but why not release 4 different versions with different cover art? One with Neo, one with Morpheus and Trinity, one with Smith and one with the APU's?

Probably not a bad idea, might help even out some of the losses. [IMG]

Looks like they've really blown it with the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions DVDs.

You'd think the Wachowskis being so into technology and all, would embrace DVD and all it can offer. How disappointing.

    I'll still get Revolutions, though.

Please say that aint the official artwork. Could it be more lame?

Could they be waiting for the eventual box set for more interesting extras? I suspect this would be the case. If the Video/Audio on Reloaded holds up for this release I can't see myself worrying about future releases.

I've just updated the specs a bit as I didn't make it clear enough that some of the features were part of another. Sorry about that!

I've always wondered if there could be anything lamer then the Matrix Reloaded cover, and here it is. You really outdid yourselves this time Warner. (clap, clap).

I wouldn't be surprised if they were saving a lot of the meatier extras for the box set (Joel Silver seems pretty excited about it). As for cover, poo poo. Just think of it this way, though, the RELOADED cover art changed a bunch of times before release.

Man, that cover art blows (not that I'd buy it, considering I hated Revolutions).

    EDIT:

Perhaps that's a prototype cover, and Warner IS going with alternate coverart using those 4 pics.

Well, at least this time WB remembered to include the trailer. They were missing on the first two Matrix DVDs(and no, the DVD-Rom trailer doesn't count!). Of course, I won't be getting this movie, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Maybe a paper sleeve with one of the covers on it? I may have to buy this just to complete the set, but I am expecting to get it for $14.99 or less.

how could movies that make such amazing trailers also make such crappy covers?!?!?!? i guess there is no correlation.

at first i thought the cover was a fake (i'm still not totally convinced). not too many "splitscreen" covers these days.

^ It's an art form, that few people ever credit. Imagine were many of these companies would be without these masters who can turn utter crap into 2 minutes of pure brilliance.

    Matrix Revolutions Theatrical Trailer

[IMG] I'm super happy to see that they included the trailer on this one unlike Reloaded which only had the trailer on the bonus disc from best buy. I think I was one of the few people that liked the film so this is a must buy for me.

My roomates own the other two, so someone I live with will probably pick this up, which is good for me since I'm not going to buy now if there's a boxset coming with better extras. These aren't movies I'm willing to double-dip on. When that comes about, I really hope that the Wachowski's provide commentaries, though I realize they are ridiculously shy about this sort of thing.
