I have an unfinished basement with 1800 sqft. Not sure if I want to finish all of it but I definitely need a theater room.
I have a 70" sony oled and kplisch 5.1.2? front L & R with center, two back surrounds and two atmos overhead front angled down.

One space I mapped out that could work is 19'Lx 14'W for 266sqft. Is this good size? too small? too big?
it will not be for a large audience. Primarily just me, maybe 2-4 couple times a year. family usually visits during the day and goes home.

I might consider switching to a projector at some point for a larger screen experience but the oled is so crystal clear.

Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to HTF!

Assuming a standard 8ft ceiling, that's 2128 cubit ft. My room is slightly smaller at 1800, so I think the size will be fine. If you're serious about Atmos, [or optimal sound in general] make sure your ceiling is flat. Avoid cathedral or other sloped designs.

Also, if you think you might want a projector at some point, plan and cable for it now, while it's comparably cheap and easy. Once drywall goes up, cabling gets more costly and difficult. My room is only 10.7 ft wide and, using an AT [acoustically transparent] model, I've managed to shoehorn in a 135 inch screen. I'd also wire for 4x Atmos at a minimum.

Please keep us posted as you begin your project.
