I've been looking at the Denon AVR-3802 and the new AVR-3803 receivers, and for the life of me I can't figure out what the difference between them is? The 3803 is an average of $300 more, but I can't determine what advantages it has, other than it is the latest model. Even most of the reviews I read tell me to get a 3802 for less than the 3803 if I can "still find a 3802". I was just wondering if there is a big difference in the 3802 and 3803 besides the price.

You gain component upconversion, apha 24 processing taken from the 4802, and some of the same dacs form the 5803, as well as better multi room control, In my opionion I would choose it over the 3802 and I have owned both. If you need help getting a good price lmk.

You also gain better bass management by being able to cut off the sub in any format.

Also add on-screen volume display for S-Video and composite, auto-format memory for the last four signal types (per input), DTS 96/24 support, and probably a couple more.

I upgraded from a 3802 and would not go back...

Don't forget more inputs. It may not be much, but I have all 7 video inputs filled, something very few other receivers have, including the 3802. (It has 5, I think.)
