I have just embarked on installing my first "real" home theater system. I should receive my Pioneer 610HD this Friday. Yipee!! In the course of researching Receivers and Speakers I came across the Definitive Tech. line. My question is: Can I save a few thousand dollars on a receiver instead of shelling out the $$$ for a Denon 5800 since the Def. Tech. BP2000 has its own pre-amp?
And in general: Can anyone recommend a good $2,000. receiver and $2,000. set of speakers? Are there any satellites that compare with towers?
    Thanks,
    Dave Jensen

    David,
the bp2000TL has a built in powered SUB...you still need a receiver to drive the speaker.
I would recommend yamaha rx-v1, b&k avr307, high end Marantz, or denon 5800 to be used with Def Tech bp2000TL's. Also make sure to wire the DT's "full range" in the bass.
They are fabulous speakers...you should really like them for both movies and music.
    Good luck!
