I did a search and didn't see any references to the updates here at HTF. Jeff Talmadge from Denon posts over at AVS from time to time and very recently alerted Denon DVD users that updates to the 2200, 2900 and 5900 have been prepared and are now available.

Specifically, the 2200 and the 2900 have fixes for the DTS stuttering and freezing problems on the Alien discs. (I have received and applied the update to my 2200 and it performs flawlessly now.)

The 5900's updates include fixes to the Menu Navigation speed, DVI resetting with certain displays and muting on some DVD-Audio 'live recording' titles. There is also a partial fix available as separate firmware for the 'Macro-blocking' issue.
(They are still working on a complete solution.)

The thread at AVS is here

Hope this helps some of you fellow Denon owners...

Thanks for the information on the 2900 update. Very annoying having the DTS freeze up with the Alien DVDs. However I may wait until they offer the firmware downloads directly from their website as was mentioned for the near future.
