My local Denon dealer has a 3300 dvd player for $649 is this a good deal?? He said it has progressive scan but I don't know the rest of the specs.

I could use some guidance on this

    TIA

What is a 3300? There's a 3800 and 2200, but never heard of a 3300, unless it is an older model, which doesn't sound right.

I've listened to the 2900 with SACD and it sounds great. Damn fine player. If you search for reviews on it, you will find more than enough reasons to buy it [IMG]

Google for 'Denon 3300 dvd' and you'll come up with some reviews of this unit. One review of it that I saw was from Feb. 2001, so it's been sitting on the shelf a while.

the 3300 is denons first player to feature DVD-Audio. It DOES NOT have progressive scan. It was basically denons top shelf player before Progressive scan players took over the entire line. I had one, and its a great player, but its old (as far as DVD players go) For $600 or a little less, a brand new new DVD 2200 will blow it away in every possible way.

OK, thanks for the info. I suspected as much even though they had it signed as "progressive"

    Thanks
