I am considering this DVD player to go along with my brand new Denon AVR-3806 but have read that there is sometimes Macroblocking issues with the Faroudja chip.

Does anyone know if this is an issue with DVD-1930CI.

ANY player which uses these particular Faroudja chips can cause macroblocking. It's really a damn shame Faroudja never corrected this issue with these current chips (I suspect one reason why Denon got rid of Faroudja with the new 2930 and 3930 players). On any rate, proper calibration can help, but be sure you buy the player from somewhere with a good return policy just in case.
