A newbie. Just bought a Denon 2802 receiver, but having trouble getting the thing to play DTS encoded material. I have optical cable hooked up from DVD player to receiver and "Gladiator" in my Sony DVD player (also DTS capable). Prologic II is fine, but DTS does not sound out in 6.1 mode nor 5.1. Please Help.

Have you enabled DTS in the player's setup menu? You need to instruct the player to pass a DTS-encoded signal before the receiver can decode it.

I believe the denon remotes have an input mode button(maybe blue) that you might have to hit to get your rec. to look for dts.
