Denon AVR-982 = same as AVR-2802????

    saw this listed on ebay from an authorized dealer - need to act fast! however - it's listed as:

    DENON AVR-982 (AVR-2802) Surround Reciever

    what's the difference???

    They are the same. 1082 = 3802

    Like John said, they are the same ... but, with two exceptions:

    1) Denon rates the power of the 982 @ 6 Ohms - so it will look more powerful when stacked against other receivers.

    2) The warranty on the 982 is only 1 year vs. the 2-year warranty on the 2802.

    However, it is the same receiver - just the markings on the front panel are different (says 982 vs. 2802).
