I'm currently trying to decide between the Denon AVR-2802 and the AVR-3802. My HT room is about 14'x28' (educated guess) and I'm running Paradigm monitor 7's, CC-350, and Mini monitors for surrounds (will add rear surround after receiver purchase).
My questions are...would AVR-2802's 90 watts per channel be ample to power this setup/room configuration or do I need the 3802's 110 watts? Price difference is $575 for the 2802 and $760 for the 3802. Is the 3802 worth the extra $$ or am I just paying for more power/features that I don't need?
    Any help would be appreciated...

Wow, that's cheap, where did you find the prices for those receivers? My local Denon dealer will only go to $720 for the 2802, so for that price surely go with the 3802!

I'll second the 3802, especially at that price.

    Scott,
The 2802 was just reviewed in S&V. IT was a very postive review and all lab results were right up there. Low noise and plenty of power.
    Good luck Bob

For that price...get the 3802 and don't look back. IMO.

Scott, I have the 3802 and it a damn fine receiver. My HT room is a similar size, 14' x 24' it the power that the 3802 has is ample. If you decide to spend the extra money, it will be well spent and you won't regret it. $760 is a damn good price! Go for it.
    Good luck
