Denon AVR 2807 (987) With DirecTV HD (1 Viewer)

Has anyone else found the Denon AVR 2807 (987) difficult to setup and use with Directv HD on a daily basis?

Thanks for the offer of help but I resolved the issue. After working on the 987 for almost three days (with Denon Tech Support) the last straw was when the front left and right channels died.

I exchanged it last night for a Onkyo TX-SR804.

How is the problem related to DirecTV? What speakers do you own? Glad to hear the issue is resolved!

I found the 987 user UN-friendly. The auto-setup, while very easy, set the speakers at levels that all but ignored the surround, surround back and subwoofer. After setup, the volume varied greatly from show to show, requiring constant adjustment. On a minor point, the OSD is too small when read from about 10 feet.

The Onkyo 804 is very intuitive.
