Both of these 2 recievers are at the top of my purchase list. Features, specs, pricing (at authorized dealers-J&R Music World & Stereo Exchange, so far, in NYC) are within reason. The next step is to find out which company has the better customer support after the sale. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

As in my sig, I have an Integra DTR 8.2. I bought it as a demo unit from a small store selling on EBay. I haven't played much with the newer Denons (my roommate in the Air Force had one, but that was in '95 and it did sound good) but when I registered my reciever, I was pleasantly suprized to find the UPS guy delivering a small package from Integra a few weeks later. I opened it up to find a very nice shiny pen with felt protector and nice luggage tag with an ink-signed letter from the president of the company congratulating me on my purchase and welcoming me to the "family".

If their warrenty support is half as good as their welcoming package then I consider myself a very content customer and I would buy any Integra/Integra Research product without a second thought. Wait, actually I allready did when I just bought my RDV-1 DVD player. It is great and I just registered it and wouldn't be suprized if they do the same thing Integra did.

Hope that helped.

Hmmm, interesting start! Can't say i've ever recieved a welcome like that just for registering my product. Over the years, I have tried to purchase "up" from what I had previously (Pioneer SX-737,Technics SU-V7,Yamaha AVX-100U ,Onkyo TX-8711). I have been "lucky" in choosing good products in the past and I want to make sure I haven't missed anything on this purchase. Thanks.

I can vouch for the Integra's. I also got a demo unit from a small store selling on ebay. Hmmmm.....I was also in the Air Force!?!? Conspiracy theory here or what!?!?
I haven't registered yet but did get a little card w/ the purchase indicating 7 days a week customer service. I have also read other threads stating that the customer service for Onkyo in general is above average. Gee....can't wait for that luggage tag!?!? :D
BTW, the receiver is very nice...mine's a DTR 7.

LoL, yeah, its a conspiracy. ;) :D

I was active duty from oct 94-98 as a fire protection specialist. Served 4 mo. over in saudi at prince sultan air base. I guess now its gone since we left saudi. Place was just a big litterbox as far as I am concerned. I dunno how people live there milking and eating camels. Anywho, I wandered way off topic, sorry bout that.

Hope you like your new reciever. I have never gotten anything like that when registering a product either. I have emailed Integra Research about a question I had with my CHAD remote, and they were prompt and courteous. Another good sign.
