I've recently had a problem with my Denon AVR 1803. It doesn't want to read DTS tracks from my DVD player. It keeps going to DTS NEO instead. Is there a bad setting? Is there a way to reset all the settings and start from scratch?
The Denon manual makes no reference to a reset function but I've heard that you can do it some how.
And yes I've tried a different DVD player... And It plays back Dolby Digital.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    jd

The problem could lie with your DVD player. The receiver will only react to the input singal its seeing.

On my first set up I had a cheapo LG DVD player hooked up to a Denon 1803.
It would never auto pick up when I switched to DTS [IMG] [IMG]

If you could clarify the equipment models your using that might help some.

One option to try in the meantine is make sure your digital out on the dvd player is set to 'bitstream' and not 'PGM' (if it has those settings).

I have a Panasonic DVD player... I'm not sure the model type but it's 1 year old and cost me $250... so it isn't a DVD player I picked up by the bakery at my local grocery store. I think my Dad did that... $49.99 [IMG]
But you raise an interesting point.
I will check my DVD players settings. If that doesn't work I'll try another DVD player.
Thanks. This has been helpfull. [IMG]
This is a great web site.

Try Opitcal if your using Digital Coax, Try Digital Coax if you using Optical.

DTS Neo:6 means it is only getting two channel, and not recieving DTS multi-channel at all.

    Not generally an AVR defect.

There is a reset on the 1803 -- just check the instruction manual. It lets you start from scratch with the receiver setup. I know. I've used it. (Have an 1803 in my bedroom system.)

Thanks guys. I tried all of your feedback. It turned out to be a setting in my DVD player - Bitstream vs. PGM. javascript:smilie(':b')
