Hope this is the right forum:

I currently have Polk RT55is as my main speakers, with a Velodyne CHT-10 sub. I was at a Fry's in California w/ a buddy, and he was in the market for new speakers, so we were listening to the RTi10s and I was blown away by how much better they sound.

Question is, does the Denon 3805 have enough juice to power these speakers? I have heard that it takes alot of power to get the best out of these speakers. But there are still floor models left at the CC near me and they are really cheap!

I do a 50/50 mix between music and HT and although I think the RT55i is a great speaker, the RTi10 sounded so much better for music.

    Right now I have:

    Front: RT55i x 2
    Center: CS245i
    Back: RT35i x 2
    Sub: Velodyne CHT-10

    Thanx!

The upgrade bug is a dangerous thing...

I would say the RTi10s would be a worthwhile upgrade, especially for 2ch w/out a sub. I think the 3805 could power them very well, especially if it's only in a 5ch setup. If you decided to go 7ch it would tax the amp a bit more but I still think it would be enough power for you. Worste case you add a 2ch amp later on to power the RTi10s.

    Hope this helps [IMG]
