I am new to this forum and would appreciate input from someone other than a sales person.

I currently have an Integra 7.1 receiver with Def Tech 2002TL's up front with a CLR 2500 Center. I am changing my rears to inwall or in ceiling to reduce clutter. They will also be matching Def Tech.

There is nothing wrong with the Integra. I am considering one of the new receivers because of potential 7 channel. Mine is a 6 channel. I have been running 5 channels up until now. The sound is excellent, but could it be better?

Before I have the speakers installed this is the time to decide 6 or 7 channel.

Looks like the Yamaha can be had for about 800, I found a deal on the Denon for 700, both from authorized retailers. I figure I can get $500 on Ebay for the Integra.

To me the difference is 200-300.

Is it worth it? Would you? Why?

When I purchased my AVR-3803, I found it sonically superior to the Yamaha RX-V2300. Not sure if they completely changed the pre/power amp design of the RX-V2400 from the 2300. Best to listen side by side with correctly oriented stereo speakers.

    Good luck.

A lot of people are reporting the sound of the 1400/2400 to be superior to the 1300/2300 line. The RX-V3300 is also a great sounding receiver and if you're thinking 6.1 you might consider this one too.

Kinda funny that your Integra 7.1 is a 6.1 channel receiver.
