So it's time to upgrade the receiver and I've kind of narrowed it down to these 3 receivers based on my approximate price range.

Before I moved ahead, I wanted to get some opinions from all you expert forumites on pros and cons of each one, and your recommendations....

Of course, I am not married to these 3 and I'm open to other brands in a similar price range with similar features.

Any advice would be much appreciated....

I would add the Sony DA4ES to your list (if you can find one)

3803; loaded with features nice prepro section for later hookup to a dedicated amp and nice neutral sounding internal amps to go with. My money is on the 3803.

I agree with yogi, but the HK 525 can be had much cheaper so if you are very budget minded it would be worth a listen. The only other feature the Denon lacks that I would be interested in is the MCACC feature of the Pioneer 45tx. It autocalibrates your speaker levels and applies a 5 band EQ to each channel. I went with the 3803 after looking at all the features.

Thanks for the input everyone, I was leaning towards the Denon anyway, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything before I plunk down the bucks.

Find a store that carries your speakers and receivers you have in mind and audition them together. Might help with your decision.

P.S. I went with the 3803 and love it !!

Another 3803 fan here. I got it because I needed all 7 video inputs.
