Denon 3803 Setup Question (1 Viewer)

Hi, Do I have to run setup on the receiver before I can listen to anything? I wanted to do a quick comparison between my existing setup and the 3803. I hooked up the 3803 to a cd player and then my front speakers and played a cd. There was no volume at all until the volume was at max and even then the level was faint. I thought maybe channel levels have to be set before you could listen to anything or I have a defective unit. Thanks!!

Most likley you have to assign your inputs. So yes you must do a minor setup first.

yes, you have to do setup. you have to tell the receiver how many speakers you have, calibrate levels, assign inputs. dont do any serious auditioning until this is complete.
