    Hey guys,
Im returning my denon 1803 because i feel it under powered.Im going to purchase the denon 1082 which is supposed to be the same as the 3802.my question is can you use the denon 3802 in 6.1 mode with (left-center-right)front speakers and (left-center-right)rear suround speakers.i dont want to hook it up with the 7.1 with (left-center-right)front speakers.(left-right)side speakers.
(left-right)rear suround speakers.hope im not confusing you guys.

    Stan,

Yes, that configuration is possible with the 3802.

6.1 and 7.1 are variations of the same set up - In 7.1 the two rear center channels are recieving the same signal as a single center rear (6.1).

You can get what you want from speaker placement (the reciever isn't concerned about where you put the speakers). So if you put sides in the rear with a center rear on the same plane you are OK - probably need to be sure your delays are set for your ear. Enjoy.
