I recently decided to upgrade my speakers to Paradigm Reference 40's.
Now i am getting the bug to replace my receiver, I bought a few months ago , a low end sony w/DD and DTS
I like the 3801 and have a question i cannot tell from pics.
    1) How many pre amp outs are there? I would want enough for RL,Fl,c,sr,sl,sbl and sbr and sub. I would like to get a amp in the next year or soand use this as a pre amp.

    Gary,
The 3801 has pre-outs for all channels including surround-back right and left. Hope this helps a little.
    Gary (go figure)

    Gary,
Depending on your budget, you may want to look at the Denon 3802. It's basically an updated version of the 3801...little more horsepower and DPLII....as well as flexible bass management.
