Well i know that a direct component video connection to the TV will yield the best results. However to save the trouble of switching TV video modes, im thinking of doing component switching via the 3801. There are 2 component inputs on the 3801 and I plan to use one for the DVD and the other for PS2. I have a VHS that is currently hooked up to the receiver via S-Video. Will the switching work for the VHS? The output to the TV is component via the component out of the 3801.
Pls enlighten!

As far as I know the Denon 3801 and 3802 do not up convert video signals thus you will not be able to view the vcr unless you have a s-video cable also connect to the tv from the receiver.

The same also applies if you used composites.
