Just had to chime in here. I've had my 3300 since August or September of 1999. I paid $715.00 delivered from Uncle's Stereo in NY. I haven't had a single problem with it yet. My 3300 runs warm not hot and it has never shut down, not even once. I usually run the 3300 at 9 - 11dbs above reference level for movies and still no problems and no it doesn't distort at those levels. Here is a list of what it has powered flawlessly.
2 tower speakers (bass mamnagement set to large).
4 surrounds (bass mamnagement set to large).
1 center (bass mamnagement set to small).
2 250 watt subs split off the LFE.
2 150 watt subs line level connected for the surrounds.
It also handles the video switching for the folowing components:
DVD changer(using the 3300's component inputs)
61" RPTV (using the 3300's component outputs)
VCR (using 3300s analog connection)
Satellite receiver (using 3300's S-video connections)
CD Changer (using 3300s optical connection)
Sega Dreamcast (using 3300s analog connection)
That's 11 speakers and 6 components. Granted the subs have internal amps, but the 3300 still handles their level control so it does use some power to run them. My 3300 has been absolutely perfect. What more could I ask for, for $715.00
My next step from here is a 200wpc 5 channel amp or the Outlaw 7 channel amp and use the 3300 as a preamp. Later in the year I'll probably get the Outlaw 950 preamp.
