Denon 2900 ??

    When playing 4:3 DVD's in progressive mode on a 16:9 set are the pillars on the side black or gray?

    A 16:9 set has the ability to fit any image to the screen size. When I play P&S dvds (which I hate) with my 2200 on my set, there are no side bars.

    In progressive, I cannot use 4:3 mode on my TV (Sony KV34HS510).

    If there is no information to display, it will be black...

    I was interested in 4:3 TV shows not pan and scan movies. I take it they will be black. Thanks.

    There's no difference....a 4:3 image is a 4:3 image.
