I just have a question about the use of the digital outs on the 2800.

Can you use both digital outs on the back of the 2800 at the same time? I want to run the coax to the dvd input on the reciever and the opt to the CD input on the receiver.

I'm doing just that.
The DVD-player outputs both at the same time and you have to choose on the receiver which connection is used for what.
I have connected the player exactly like you described. Coax-DVD input. Optical-CD input.
I have:
Denon DVD-2800
Denon AVR-3801
