ive got an 1803, and believe myself to be somewhat fammiliar with the system. my question is, is it possible, when you have a DD mono track to play it through all 5 (or 6) speakers? also, why cant i use 5 channel stereo with a Neo6 or PLII source?

i am looking, of course, for an answer that does not involve wiring all speakers out of a single channel on the reciever.

    any assistance is appreciated.

Kyle: Have you tried the DSP mode Mono Movie? It should work "ok" for you. By "ok", I mean that you can get expanded sound from all 5 speakers. But it's not going to be anything like DPL II or DTS:NEO. The Mono Movie mode is adjustable for Room Size and Effect Level. So you can tweak the sound a fair amount...

5 Channel Stereo, DPL II or DTS:NEO are all modes that need true stereo (a difference between the left and right signal) to achieve their designed effect. Dolby did mention at one time that they were going to come up with a DPL II Mono Mode but to date I've never seen one on anything.
