Denon 1600 drawer issue (1 Viewer)

Anyone else have an issue w/how slow the 1600 opens the drawer after you hit the open button on the remote or front of the unit? I'm starting to wonder if mine is faulty. Seems to take a few seconds to pop open. My buddy has an RP56 and his responds faster. Being that they are the same hardware, shouldn't they operate in the same way?? Or is this a Denon issue?

Mine's the same way. Just think of it as being more "elegant" and "graceful" than the RP56.

Mine too. Is a bit irritating but I love the player so I over look it.

Being that they are the same hardware

It's based on the same video hardware, but it's been tweaked by Denon. The smooth drawer is just a Denon "touch". It's the same design philosophy as those storage compartments that glide open in luxury cars.
