Dell has a new DLP projector under their own brand. The specs look good: native XGA, 1050 lumens, DVI input, magnesium chasis, etc. for $2500. I don't see any mention of component inputs though. Does anyone know who manufactures this for Dell and is this same projector available under a different brand and price?

Er, nevermind, I just noticed on dell.com that it only has a 280:1 contrast ratio. That's just sad.

They don't even have their manual online yet, so it's hard to tell. That is an extremely low on/off contrast ratio though. I just noticed this one yesterday, and looked everywhere for a press release or manual.

Those of you interested in "bang for the buck" projectors should check out the Panny ae100 16x9 LCD with native 480 resolution.

It's not HD, but with DVD looks spectacular. Ready for the price?

Less than $2,000 from Japan.

Check out avscience.com and look in their "digital projectors for less than $5,000" forum. Very, Very cool projector.

The 3100mp may be an Optoma EzPro 735 clone. The Boxlight XD-17k obviously is.
Optoma EzPro 735:

XGA native DLP
1100 ANSI Lumens
500:1 on/off contrast
2000 hour 130 watt P-VIP lamp
85% uniformity
35dB noise
DVI
Boxlight XD-17k picture:

Specs are exactly the same as the Optoma EzPro 735
Here is the Dell 3100MP:
