This great (if not sometimes too Hollywood-sy) biography of Billie Holiday has not seen release on DVD yet. Could this be due to a dispute between Paramount and Universal? I bring up Universal because their music division bought Motown, the film's original production company (Paramount only released the film).

If you've seen the movie lately on HBO, notice there is no closing logo at the end. Could this be that Universal now owns the rights to this film? Think about it.

Motown owned the copyright to this film and was renewed...does Universal now own the copyright?

This is scheduled for release on November 8 by Paramount. It will be a Special Collector's Edition - single disc. It will include a producer / director commentary, featurette "Behind the Blues", and deleted scenes.

Released as scheduled. And despite being listed at various websites as "full screen", it's anamorphic widescreen, as one would expect from Paramount.

Yes, but it's MAHOGANY that's conspicuously missing in action. It was announced to be released at the same time as LSTB, but suddenly disappeared from the Paramount schedule. Gee, could it be music rights? duh.
