sorry about big font - :b

I think I have gaussed my TV (Hitachi 32UX59B) with a badly placed center speaker, giving me vertical distortion, paticularly with white lines

Can I use a degaussng tool (Radio Shack?) or is there a service menu feature I can use?

    Thanks

    Steve

    Is the speaker shielded?

Sorry to report this, but the two times I ruined televisions by placing them too close to some unshielded speaker systems, there was no mending the problem.

    Jack- thanks for the input,

The speaker is a JBL "FLIX 20" center, part of a surround package bought 12 months ago I threw the box and paperwork away a few months ago - :b

    Does this help?

    Regards

    Hi Stevie,
Probably the degaussing tool. Here's info on how to do it.
    Thanks,
    Errol

Is it "incest" to reply to your own thread?
Anyway, Radio Shack don't have a Degaussing Tool, neither do any of the the other Electronics Suppliers in Ottawa I have tried.
    I feel a Service Call coming on[IMG]
