what would be the best reciever to pair with (as of right now) the def tech pro cinema 80's. HK 8000, Denon 4802, or any other suggestions. Most expert opinons say the def techs are a little bright. So a warm reciever, and one that will play good and clear at levels below reference. I would also take other speaker recommendations for 1000 without a sub. And also my one side surround will have to be hung from the ceiling.

Thanks

I have Def.Tech speakers driven by an Onkyo 797. I've read where people describe the 797 as being bright sounding as well as the Def. Tech. Well maybe people confuse crystal clear clarity with being bright. If that's the case I like it. Don't get me wrong, I love bass, and my BP2004TL's provide plenty of that also. Everyone's ears are different, trust your own when choosing speakers
I have heard the Cinema 80's and liked them but thought the Cinema 100's sounded better. You should be able to get 10% to 15% off list from your dealer, at least that's what I found at two different places.
The receivers you have listed are rated very high, but may be a little overkill for a small set of speakers. You could spend less there and put more towards the speakers. However, they would be something you could have for awhile and upgrade your speakers later.
Good Luck
David
