Hello all,

Thanks so much for all of your donated time and expertise.

Currently i have the def tech bp7004 for front and just bought the clr2300 for my center (yes i do realize the driver's are different sizes from the fronts but i couldn't justify the extra $250 for the next speaker).

So now the surrounds. just found out that the BP1.2X surrounds are being discontinued and Best Buy no longer carries them. They do have the promonitors 800 and 1000. I do plan to buy 4 total, and the room is not very large (25X15).

Questions: Is it better to wait (yuck) and order the BP1.2xs online or are the promonitors basically as good? Any reason to favor one over the other?

Should i get the surrounds to match the center channel drivers (promonitor 800) or the fronts (promonitor 1000)?

thanks for the help!

As long as you stay in the Def Tech family to keep tonal quality it comes down to personal perference. Do you want the more diffuse sound of a bi-polar surround such as the BP1.2 or the more pin-point imaging of the pro monitor? Considering you already have a full front sound stage made up of bi-polar speakers, I would suggest you go with the BP1.2's, they also have the same look as the towers and have the same black sock grille material so everything matches up.
I have an older set of Def Tech bookshelf speakers and the BP1x surrounds that have given me ten years of faithful service, go for it!
