Ok, I need some help.

I have a small room that I am setting up a home theater in. The room is about 13 X 16. We just purchased a 42" widescreen Toshiba HDTV. Now I need speakers.

I have been leaning towards a component system rather than a HTiB, but I'd like your opinions.

I'm considering either a nice HTiB in the $400-$500 range. I have picked a brand yet, but I want one w/o a DVD player.

OR

I'm considering the Polk RM6000 or RM6005 with an HK AVR-125.

Which route would you go and why?

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I would go with the component system. I found that the HTiB speakers are really not up to par or able to handle the lows of other speakers, and the sub is usually not that great either. If you have existing speakers already- just use these for now and as you upgrade add on. Don't forget to timbre match the fronts and center speakers though- the rears are not as important to match. If you don't already have a sub, a great little sub that packs quite a punch is the DLS 10 from PartsExpress.com. It's only a $99 and wow what a sub for entry level- much better than any HTiB sub, and you can use speakers that don't need to go as low. Good luck.
