People are buying the onkyo sr600 for $400-430, but it outputs about 35Wx5 if all channels are running.

If that doesn't worry you (if you arent running tower speakers at least), then consider it.

Are you looking for a inexpensive receiver that will do component video switching? If so, for what purpose? Is it only for DVD or do you want to use it for high definition as well? Any suggestions for equipment have to take this info into account.
