Hi I've decided to go for one SVS CS-Ultra passive subwoofer, and maybe another if it's little bit weedy;) anyway looking at a suitable 2 channel poweramp. I've seen a Parasound HCA-1200Mk II, this has gain adjustment which seems useful- will be used from a Lexicon MC-1 set at 80hz.

Does the Parasound 1200 sound good at bass frequencies- I mean is it taut, and not plodding?

Any comments regarding SVS, Parasound or similar poweramp appr.

Cheers

IMHO Any good power amp will do good subwoofer duty as long as it is powerful enough. That's why SVS offers Samson, which is basically a "PA amp" as the lower cost option for their subs(Crown being the high end option). Parasound makes excellent amps and should work fine.
